Think of yourself as a person being transported to another country in a time of war. Although you are scared, you know that you are fighting for a good cause, and the end result outweighs the risks that you are about to take. You believe in your cause and have faith that no matter what happens, the country that you serve, will do its best to honor you and bring you home once again to your family. Then something happens. You are captured, imprisoned, or even killed. But as hard as these situations are to endure, you hold strong to the belief that your country will help you. And you believe that even if you do die in a foreign country, that you still be sent home so that your family and friends and put you to rest where you belong.

Unfortunately, for thousands of people, it has not turned out this way. The men who have fought for their country have been left behind and even been forgotten. They will never know their own return to the land that they fought for and protected. Their families will never know what happened to them, or the comfort of knowing that their final resting place was in their home land. This is unacceptable, and we must do what we can to change this situation.

But there are ways that you can help. You can write letters to your congress people and to the president. Keep writing letters until they respond to you. If you don't like the response they give you, keep writing. You can make memorial pages on your websites to those who have been lost and left behind. Remind others that there are service people who need to come home. But most of all, remember these people in your minds and your hearts. If they can't be put at rest at home, at least let their memory live here.
